Competition formats

There are currently four competition formats available. We welcome any feedback on additional formats or improvements as we grow

1. Weigh-in
At the end of the competition, the Marshall weighs a competitor’s total catch, this would be all the fish caught, regardless of species. The competitor with the highest total weight is the winner.
All catches uploaded through the app during the competition are seen as catch content. Some competitions have websites and tv screens up to view catch content in real-time. Once the competition is finished the marshal will record each competitor's total catch weight.

2. Longest 5
Fishermen record their own catches.

Competitors use the CODEDFISH mobile app to upload catches during a competition. The top 5 fish according to respective lengths are automatically calculated into a final total length on completion of the competition.
Only the top 5 catches count. Variation of fish species is not something this format takes heed of.
Catches can only be seen by others once a competition is finished and results published.

3. Heaviest 5
Fishermen record their own catches.

Same as the Length competition but based on weight.
Only the top 5 catches count. Variation of fish species is not something this format takes into account.
Catches can only be seen by others once a competition is finished and results published.

4. CODEDFISH Pegged Classic
Fishermen record their own catches in length.

A fish must be 15cm or longer to be eligible. Every cm longer than 15 is a point.
Variation of fish species is not something this format takes into account.
Catches can only be seen by others once a competition is finished and results published.
